As Black Bear Hunting outfitters in New Brunswick, Canada we offer black bear hunts in both the spring and fall. We conduct our
hunts entirely on private forest land where we have a large, exclusive black bear hunting territory for our clients use only via our lease with the landowner. Being possibly the only black bear hunting outfitters in New Brunswick that spend the entire spring, summer and fall here in the wilderness this allows us to scout and closely monitor the best areas within this territory 8 months a year. Thanks to our isolated location in northern New Brunswick ( an hour’s drive to the nearest telephone pole ) commute times to hunting areas are minimal. We tend to cater to smaller groups of hunters keeping hunter to guide ratios low. Individual hunters are welcome as are non-hunting guests.
We deploy several trail cameras as well as “good old-fashioned leg work” to put our hunters on the best baits every week. We employ experienced guides who know the areas we hunt very well and they know bear hunting very well too. If you’re a first-time bear hunter your guide will provide you with the know-how to make sure when that bear approaches you can make the most of the opportunity.
Black bear hunting season in New Brunswick can essentially be divided into 2 periods/ seasons. Our New Brunswick Spring season black bear hunts begin in late May,and continue through the month of June. Effective for 2014 rifle hunting now commences September 1 and continues until November 1 . Note: during the week of Moose season ( the last full week in September) bear hunting is restricted to bows and crossbows only. All bear hunting is done over baits in the evening. October-November fall bear hunts may be combined with Ruffed Grouse or possibly Whitetail Deer hunting. Our fully outfitted hunts include lodging, guiding, meals, transit to hunting areas and game preparation. More information on what to bring, season dates and more information on coming to Canada for our friends south of the border can be found on our general information page. Note: for those wishing for a list of references: we do not publish this information online as the privacy of our clients is a top priority; publishing names and telephone numbers or email addresses online can lead to fraud, phishing and email spam. If you would like a list of references we certainly can provide this if you contact us.
During the day many of our spring bear hunters take advantage of the fantastic fishing we have to offer for some of New Brunswick’s largest freshwater game fish making us stand apart from other outfitters in New Brunswick. At Long Lake it’s all right here….right at your doorstep. Wildlife of all shapes and sizes, both furred and feathered, can be seen in and around the camp yard here. Long Lake Adventures boasts several returning clients who come every here not just for the great New Brunswick bear hunting, but for the camaraderie and the unique outdoor experience that can only be had in a remote setting like ours.
Here’s an article as it appeared in the Fall 2016 edition of Flight, the official publication of the Virginia Bowhunters Association recapping the experience of one of our 2016 spring black bear hunting guests.
