Moose Hunting FAQ

Due to a high volume of inquiries regarding New Brunswick Moose hunting we’ve posted the answers to the most frequently asked questions here:

  • Q- Do you have or plan to have moose tags/licenses available for sale?-
  • A- No, unfortunately we do not; the New Brunswick government makes a very limited number of tags available to hunting outfitters via a lottery system and outfitters are allowed a maximum of one tag each per year. (Again this is dependent on us actually drawing one and if we are fortunate enough to draw one our policy is to offer that tag to one of our many dedicated clients who visit us annually during the bear season.)

  • Q- If I am lucky enough to draw a tag in the annual lottery run by your government can you provide me with a list of references I can contact before I choose an outfitter?
  • A- Yes, we certainly can, we have many very satisfied hunters who are quite willing to act as references, however to protect their privacy we do not post their contact information online and we only provide this to persons who have actually drawn a tag.

  • Q- Can I bring another person with me to accompany me on the hunt?
  • A- Yes, non-hunting guests are welcome, contact us for our rates for non-hunting guests.

  • Q- Can moose hunts be combined with other hunts?
  • A- The only season that coincides here with the moose season is the bear season, which is limited to crossbow and bow hunting (no rifles) during the week of moose season. Our moose hunts involve hunting dawn-til-dark which leaves little room for other hunting activities so we generally discourage this.

  • Q- If I am hunting with you and get a moose what do I do with the meat? Will I have to transport it home to have it butchered?
  • A- We are very fortunate to have a special agreement with a local butcher shop who will expedite processing of your meat. (note: butchering is not included in our rates, however all skinning and preparation as well as delivery to the butcher shop is included.)
